Good morning! For those of you who are new to my blog, I am Racheal a stay-at-home mom of two toddlers (Abby-3 & David-1) . I reside in SW Minnesota where we experience all four seasons at their extreme… Winters are the roughest season by far as a stay at home mom residing in the farm. I am very excited to be part of this blog series, and a little nervous it is my first .
Here are the other bloggers participating.
When I was given this weeks topic for this weeks Motherhood Monday “Motherhood Mantras” my first reaction was… what the heck is a mantra ??…
According to Wikipedia “Mantra” means a sacred utterance, numinous sound, or a syllable, word, phonemes, or group of words believed by some to have psychological and spiritual power in Sanskrit. A mantra may or may not have syntactic structure or literal meaning; the spiritual value of a mantra comes when it is audible, visible, or present in thought.
My next thought was…. I am a Lutheran farmwife, who gets a little uncomfortable when things get a little more spiritual. I dismissed the topic, and then went back to finishing watching my episode of Ally McBeal on Netflix. Then I got an idea.
3 Modern Mommy Mantras to help you get through…
1.”I think I can, I think I can”
You have probably heard this phrase uttered from the popular and timeless Children’s story “The Little Engine that Could.” For those moments in life when you feel like you can’t handle it anymore, think of this phrase or your own personal favorite. 50 Motivational Quotes worth reading
2. “Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
I am a Christian, I was raised in a Christian home, and I am not trying to “push” Christianity on you, but with all of the horrible things going on in the world, I need some positive in my life. Christianity is my positive.
3. Get a theme song. ( This is the idea I got from Ally McBeal.)

“Happy” by: Pharrell Williams
It might seem crazy what I’m about to say
Sunshine she’s here, you can take a break
I’m a hot air balloon that could go to space
With the air, like I don’t care baby by the way
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do
Here come bad news talking this and that, yeah,
Well, give me all you got, and don’t hold it back, yeah,
Well, I should probably warn you I’ll be just fine, yeah,
No offense to you, don’t waste your time
Here’s why
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do
{Hey
Go
Uh}
Bring me down
Can’t nothing
Bring me down
My level’s too high
Bring me down
Can’t nothing
Bring me down
I said (let me tell you now)
Bring me down
Can’t nothing
Bring me down
My level’s too high
Bring me down
Can’t nothing
Bring me down
I said
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do
{Hey
Go
Uh}
Bring me down… can’t nothing…
Bring me down… my level’s too high…
Bring me down… can’t nothing…
Bring me down, I said (let me tell you now)
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth

C’mon}

atI love the idea of a theme song! I need to think about this though. I use “I think I can. I think I can.” a lot. I loved that book growing up.

atA theme song is an amazing idea! I may or may not be known for busting out in song and dance anyhow. 😉 Love your post and look forward to the next Motherhood Monday!
