I had going to the Fairmont Aquatic Park on my summer bucket list, back when I had a summer bucket list . I thought I was going to conquer SW Minnesota, NW Iowa, and SE South Dakota this summer…. (that isn’t working to well for me in case you were wondering 😉 ).
I was talking to a friend, and she informed me of the AWESOME promotion that Fairmont Aquatic Park had going on, so the kids and I spent the afternoon over at the aquatic center for a play date, (ps. AWESOME spot for a play date.) I am horrible about taking pictures on play dates, so Kristy was also nice enough to share some her pictures with me 🙂
I LOVE a GOOD DEAL. (Hence the blog name 😉 ).
Sunday was an awesome day to spend at the pool, and we had a great time… here are
5 Reasons to LOVE the Fairmont Aquatic Park
5. The promotions-
Seriously, if you are on facebook and like to find something to do in the Fairmont area for the summer months, Like the Fairmont Pool’s facebook page.. Since I started following them there is always a cool event happening, or a great promotion going on.
Example: This past weekend marked a half-way point for the summer, so the Aquatic Park offered Half Price deals on admission for the day (just $2.50/all people 2 and older for the day) and also on Pool passes! My two kids and I were therefore able to have an afternoon of swimming for $5!!

4. The slides-
My daughter told me the slides were her favorite part of the aquatic park, this surprised me to be honest. During our play date, she went down the orange tunnel slide 1 time, and then decided that she was all done with slides for the day. Her brother attempted to go down the slide at least a dozen times, with his overprotective mom (me) stopping him every single time, because it made me a little nervous having my 22 month old go down an enclosed slide by himself…
One thing I would love to see added to the Aquatic Park, would be another open slide that is geared towards the younger children ages 1-3 (not enclosed, and shorter than their orange slide).
3. SANDBOX-
Yes, I was a little skeptical of this one at first also. But they also have a HUGE (fenced in) sandbox. For all of those kids who don’t have one at home (like mine), this is amazing.
My favorite part of the sandbox is, that it is completely fenced in 🙂 Meaning little stray animals that could possibly leave “little surprises” aren’t able, or little toddler boys who like to run and investigate EVERYTHING, are fenced into the same area we are (when the gate is closed).
2. Amenadies
We are at the point, we are becoming a little notorious for being late for one reason or another, this particular day one of the reasons was we couldn’t find our sunblock, still can’t find it actually… So on a whim we left with out it, and sure enough by the entrance desk they were selling some in our favorite brand of sunscreen 🙂 YES!!! #momwin
Some of my other favorite amenities of the center are:
- Plenty of shade and seating with tables available (by the snack bar, by the pools, and by the sandbox).
- Warm water- Plain and simple, you don’t feal like you are participating in the Polar Plunge every-time you enter the pool.
- Reasonably priced snack bar
- Sunblock and other things swimming necessities are available to purchase (on site).
1. It only costs $5
On a Regular day admission it only costs $5 for ages 2 and above.
Unfortunately you cant do much anymore for $5. But you can have a day of fun at the aquatic park for $5, and the memories that you will create are worth WAY MORE than $5.

atWow! This looks like a fantastic place to play! I wish we had something like that here! Great to have sand and water at the same place. We had one play area near us but there was no shade, so nice they have designed to cater for this! We would spend a lot of time here!
