Yay for “brunch” playdates and an excuse to clean the house (try) and make a variety of baked goodies. 🙂
I started out with the idea of making homemade cake donuts complete with frosting and sprinkles and it grew into mini scrambled egg cups and this delicious recipe that I altered from a time consuming tart into a simple and easy Danish.
This recipe is easily adaptable to whatever berry you have on hand or enjoy. We had a carton of blackberries in our fridge from last weekends distribution from Bountiful Basket.
The food was enjoyed, and fun was had by all. Both kids are even taking a nap at the same time afterwards 🙂 #mommievictory #playdatefun #homemadegoodies
Berry Cream Cheese Danish
I used a carton of blackberries for this simple delicious Danish. However, I believe any type of berry would be equally delicious.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 8 minutes
Total Time 13 minutes
Servings 8 Danish rolls
Ingredients
- 1 package Crescent rolls
- 4 oz Cream Cheese (softened) ( I put it in the microwave for 30seconds to make sure it was mixable)
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- 1/4 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 6 oz Blackberries (or any type of berry you choose)
Instructions
-
1. Preheat oven to 375.
-
2. Unroll Package of Crescent roll onto Baking sheet (Grease pan or use parchment paper if necessary.)
-
3. Mix remaining ingredients together (powdered sugar, vanilla & Cream Cheese.) Place several berries (we put 3 per Danish.) on top of the cream cheese mixture.
-
4. Place mixture on top of unrolled crescent rolls.
-
5. Add berries on top of mixture and fold over section of the crescent roll to create the "look" of a Danish.
-
6. Bake Danish 8-13 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy 🙂
