I find it entertaining, what toddlers take from something (a story, movie, event, etc). This past weekend we were able to get out of the house on several different occasions and take in several different things ( attend a Princess Premiere, see the movie Beauty & The Beast, attend the Farm & Home Show, went out to eat as a family, & visited with family.) What did my 4 year olds take away??…
She made two new friends and she jumped around in a colon… and she met Belle…
Well here is what else (besides seeing the inflatable colon) we were able to do at the Farm & Home show last weekend in Jackson MN.
On Saturday, I naturally forgot to put a clean outfit in our diaper bag, and to bring our ERGO (infant carrier). But we were able to have a great time thanks to the umbrella stroller I keep in the van & a friend that let me a onesie after a huge blow out.
Previously I LOVED going to events of this sort just to get free stuff (while I was in school & while I was teaching). Now when I go, I try to avoid picking up the free stuff, and try to get my kids to do the same. #momlife
This time, I had enough self control to only pick up one free item ( a pen) so I can successfully continue my plan of downsizing. But that wasn’t for lack of freebees & giveaways at the show.
We ate like Queens (the girls & I) between the bake sale put on by the Jackson County Relay for Life team/ American Cancer Society, the food stand from the JCC FFA, and the free ice cream, milk, pie & coffee at the event. Oh and who can forget the Girl Scout Cookie booth 😉
We spent some time with the adorable kittens & dogs that were available to pet & adopt through the P.A.W.S organization.
We were able to see first hand why a ROOMBA vacuum is NOT for our family/house.
We were able to see friends we had not seen in several months & make new friends. This alone makes it well worth getting out of the house on a Saturday morning.
There are so many different booths for great businesses & events going on in Jackson County and the surrounding area that we can’t possibly share everything right now but would recommend you go for yourself.
Oh and who can forget the entertaining & educational Semi-Colon (part of a Colon) sponsored by Sanford Health of Jackson.
