I am back for another installment of friDIY another Simple DIY project, this week’s project will be a Simple Decorative Wall Art.
While I was at a Craft Store a few weeks ago on a hunt for the materials for a Christmas Project my toddlers would make their grandparents & great grandparents, I found this pallet canvas and I had to get it. I found DOZENS of ideas on pinterest but I ended up settling on this design in hopes of making a wall photo collage with it….
- Decide on your design. I chose a pretty simple one since this is my first project of this nature.
2.Get your stencil or design ready I made my stencil with my Cricut Expression 1 Electronic Cutting Machine with no cartridges included using my Alphalicious cartridge. (My favorite & Most used Cartridge).
3.Trace your design onto the Canvas
4.Begin painting in your design. Remember that Acrylic paint is a pain to get out of clothes, so wear your “paint clothes.” I prefer using smaller brushes when I paint, (I feel like it gives me more control of the project).
5.Let project dry.
6.Paint the beautiful project up for all to admire your wonderful work.
This week I also added links to purchase the materials off of Amazon if you choose. How convenient is that J

What I used
- paint brush (medium & thin)
2. Acrylic Paint (Make sure you do not get any on your clothes! it is a pain to try to get off)
3. Mix the Media- Wooden Canvas
4. Stencils
( or free hand write the wording yourself) I’m not that good, yet..
I let my Cricut do the work for me on this part. But if you don’t have access to one you can print off a set of stencils to use for this project.
