The weather has been quite crazy here in SW Minnesota, it will be gloomy, rainy, and cold one day and hot and humid the next. Our morning routine of taking 3-5 mile walks after we drop off my oldest to school has since fell to the wayside because we can never quite tell what it will be like for long periods of time.
We still love spending as much time outside as possible, but on some days (rainy/ cold/ windy) I typically limit our play to inside. We have a pretty small house making indoor activities that involve yelling, jumping, and screaming… driving this mama a little bonkers… and then some.
Therefore on yucky days I tend to get(try) to be a little creative with our activities to keep us going, mainly so we keep TV time to a minimal.
The idea for this project actually started a few years ago.
This is one of those ideas I started using a few years ago, and it is simply amazing, it is also great to throw a few in a plastic bag and bring them with you to the store when you need a time filler or you have a hungry kid. As my kids are making their necklaces, I crank out a few for future snack time or on the go snacks.
What you will need:
Yarn / Ribbon / Pipe cleaner
Oreo O’s Cereal
Pipe cleaner
* A paper clip bent half open also makes a great helping tool for little ones who are still struggling with putting the Oreo O’s on the yarn/ Ribbon or Pipe cleaner.
Place cereal on Yarn/ Ribbon / Pipe cleaner, enjoy making the necklace or bracelet or just eat the cereal as you go. 🙂
