As someone who enjoys both selling and buying tasty treats this post was almost as exciting as the garage sale “kick off post”.
(The Mega List of Garage Sales & Rummage Sales for SW Minnesota, NW Iowa & SE South Dakota. ) One of my favorite things at rummage sales is checking out the “home baked goods section”. I think my mom got me hooked on this as a young child… We would go to a particular garage sale EVERYYEAR not because the normal garage sale items… because of the baked goods… TRUE STORY.
While I was researching recipes for this post… aka talking to two of my new favorite food bloggers, The Gingered Whisk and Cheap Recipe Blog and going on pinterest.. I thought of 3 recommendations for anyone who is selling treats at their sale (whether a garage/rummage sale or a bake sale)
Recommendations:
- Make it something they can eat on the go.
- Presentation if it looks pretty/nice I am pretty sure they will buy it.
- Advertise your goods- Whether it is in your ad for your sale, a bright sign near where the treats are sitting, possibly plus a brightly poster board at the end of the drive way saying that you have baked goods (in addition to your garage sale sign).
