Toddlers.. they are their own unique breed of little person.
They are big emotions trapped in a little body. Don’t get me wrong… I LOVE my children, but sometimes the communication with them is hard/comical.

Mom said vs. Dad said…
Child: Can I have a cookie?
Mom: No, you didn’t eat all of your lunch.
Child: Daddy, can I have a cookie?
Dad: If your mom says its ok…
Child to mom: Mom, dad said it was ok to have a cookie.

Remembering the little things, you said when you wish they wouldn’t…
- Remembering the fact that you said we would go to the Children’s museum Friday, but you ended up getting a double ear infection, and the thought of screaming toddlers- tweens makes you want to scream yourself.
- Telling others what we got them for Christmas as they hand the gift over to them to unwrap.
-
Making up crazy stories, and telling them over and over and over again.
I have only witnessed this a few times with my own three year old a few times, the crazy/funny stories is a love/hate part of teaching 2nd grade (prior to having kids) I wish I would have kept a journal because those kids were hilarious…
-One student (2nd grade boy) once told me that he was going to marry me when he was taller than me.
-Another group of students told me their dads don’t wear pajamas when they go to bed…
– While I was pregnant with my daughter a kindergartner told me that I was going to have a girl baby, because I was a girl..
Point of the story, these kids may be slightly difficult to love at times, but there is the other part of the time when they are hard not to laugh at when they are being to cute/funny for their own good.

atIt’s like we’re all speaking a different language sometimes.

atPretty much :/ At least they can speak… :/
Amber Joy says
atOh kids, they sure have a wonderfully awful way of communicating 🙂
rachealackermann says
atIsn’t that the truth. It is so hard not to laugh sometimes. So much personality in such little people 🙂

atHahahaha it’s always an adventure, isn’t it?! The more Clara learns to say, the more I’m in fear of what’s going to come out of her mouth! — Lisa | Naptime Chai

atMy daughter is only 7 months but I can already see that she’ll be a big talker. Excited but scared of the next toddler phase!!
