Last Saturday (December 5th, 2015) we (my 3 year old daughter & myself) had a fantastic opportunity to attend The Great Russian Nutcracker at the Orpheum Theater in beautiful downtown Minneapolis, MN . As I mentioned in an earlier post, it has been a lifelong dream of mine to attend the ballet, and I can now check it off my bucket list. We were able to get great tickets via US FAMILY Guide . US Family Guide lists events (as well as codes for getting discounted tickets) around the nation. Yay for great events, at a great price. The Nutcracker will be in Sioux Falls, SD Wednesday December 7th also, and last time I looked there were still tickets available!! Use the code SANTA to get a special discount on your tickets.
We had AMAZING seats. The theater was BEAUTIFUL. Throughout the production, We were surrounded by families starting or continuing a family Christmas tradition, creating memories to last a lifetime. During the production, my 3 year old daughter sat on my lap and I LOVED watching her face of amazement when the amazing dancers performed their phenomenal ballet moves.
The production included hundreds of different costumes, tall animal puppets, colorful backdrops with 3-D effects.
In the Magical Snow Forest an authentic Russian style Troika Sleigh, known as the fastest sleigh in the world, is escorted by Father Christmas and Snow Maiden on their way to Act II.
The Great Russian Nutcracker is known for its dedication to world peace with Act II named the “Land of Peace and Harmony.” The first scene of Act II features a stunning “Dove of Peace” with a 20′ wingspan and danced by 2 dancers each with one feathered wing.
OVERALL: I would highly recommend getting dressed up in your Sunday best with your family & friends, and attend the Great Russian Nutcracker Ballet closest to you. Remember the code SANTA at checkout for a special deal.
